Series Rules
- This racing series is designed for Reaper Rentals Rookies or equivalent. No experienced drivers will be allowed to ensure a fair level of competition. Any driver who has competed in 8 races or more will be considered a non rookie and will not be allowed to participate in this series.
- Reaper Rentals will provide 6 kart options for this series. They will include the following karts, (karts may change as inventory in the Reaper fleet adjusts)
- 2011 Top Kart
- 2010 Top Kart
- 2009 Birel
- 2009 Birel
- 2006 Biesse
- 1997 Hasse
- All 6 karts can be fitted with either a 100cc KPV or a 100cc Yamaha. All motors will be equipped with either a 4-Pipe or a 3-Pipe. 3-Pipe drivers will receive a 15 lbs advantage. Yamaha drivers will receive a 10 lbs advantage.
- Rookie drivers who do own their own karts will be allowed to race in this series with the approval of Reaper Rentals after review of their racing history.
- All drivers will be weighed in the drivers meeting. The heaviest weighing driver will be the baseline and will add no weight to his/her kart. All other drivers will add weight to their kart to get them within 5 lbs of the heaviest driver.
- Only used tires will be allowed to be used in this series.
- Qualifying order for this series will be based upon a random draw (See Random Draw below for additional information). This draw will set the starting order for Heat 1. Heat 2 starting order will be set by the finishing order from Heat 1, then inverted. For example should you finish 1st in Heat 1, you will start last in Heat 2. The Main Event starting order will be determined based on the finishing order of Heat 2.
- Each Heat race will consist of 8 laps and the Main Event will be 20 laps.
Random Draw
At the drivers meeting before Heat 1, a random number drawing will take place. Each driver will pick a number from 1 to the number of drivers in the field. Once the drawing takes place, the driver who picked first may select one of the following (If a driver has their own kart, they may only choose their starting position for Heat 1):
- Starting position for Heat 1
- Which Kart they want to drive
- A specific motor
Starting Position
A driver may choose any starting position in the field for Heat 1 only, with the knowledge that Heat 2 will be inverted.
Choice of Kart
A driver may choose which kart they want to drive. They are only choosing the kart. A different driver may steal the motor that is on that kart. Should a kart only fit a particular driver, then Reaper Rentals will treat that kart and driver as a kart owner and his/her only selection will be that of starting position.
Choice of Motor
A driver may choose a specific motor prior to selecting their kart. Once a driver selects a kart, he/she no longer gets to select a motor. If someone steals their motor, they will get the motor off of the kart of the driver who stole their motor.
Each driver will continue making selections until every driver has a kart, motor and starting position. At that time the field is locked and all drivers will run their karts for the remainder of the day. Should a drivers kart fail to be able to finish the day, the driver will receive points for the races completed and last place points for the races not completed. Additionally, should a motor fail and Reaper Rentals not be able to fix it, the driver will get a credit from Reaper Rentals for the next round race. This credit will equate to 100% if no race is started, 66% if only 1 Heat is started, 33% if 2 Heats are started and no credit if the Main and all Heats are started. Reaper Rentals has sole discretion in any judgement call in reference to this credit rule, but will always try its best to satisfy it clients and also will always do its best to keep all of its karts on the track. Should a driver have a kart related failure, not tied to the motor, and the kart will not be able to continue, no refund or credit will be given. Even if the kart is damaged in an accident not caused by the driver, the driver is responsible for their kart and if it can not continue no refund or credit will be given. Reaper Rentals will do everything in its power to repaid any damage and get the kart back on the track.
Series Points
Points will be awarded for all Heat Races and the Main Event in all three series races. At the end of the series the driver with the most accumulated points will win the Grand Prize. Points will be awarded as follows:
Heat Races will have baseline points of 0 plus 1 point per driver with the winner getting the maximum points for the Heat Race and each subsequent driver getting 1 point less. For example if there are 6 drivers, the winner of the Heat Race will receive 6 points, 2nd place will get 5 points, 3rd will get 4 points and so on until all points are awarded.
The Main Event will have a baseline of 15 points plus 2 points per driver with the winner getting the maximum points. 2nd Place will receive 5 points less than the winner and each subsequent driver will receive 2 points less. For example if there are 6 drivers the winner will receive 27 points (15 baseline points plus 2 points for each driver or 12 additional points totaling 27), 2nd place will get 22 points, 3rd will receive 20 points, 4th will receive 18 and so on.
No bonus points will be awarded and there are no drops. If you do not race the entire series you may not be able to earn enough points to win the Grand Prize.
If a driver competes in a race and for what ever reason can not complete the series, a new driver will take over his/her points. For example; John Smith races in race #1 and finishs with 50 points and is 3rd in the standings. If for some reason he is not able to race in the next race, he will forfeit his points. Then whomever Reaper Rentals replaces him with will assume his points in the standings and is eligible for the Grand Prize. In order to guarantee your spot in every race, you must sign up and pay for the entire series upfront, or pay for the next race at least 1 week before the scheduled race date.
